(linked to Directorate of Maharashtra)

FORMATION:

On 26th October 1976, Mr. Raghunath Patil alias Aabaji, working in Co-Operative Society, transferred to RANALA, Tal: Nandurbar  from Koparli.  So, they shifted their family to Ranala.  RANALA was very well established and cultured town.  In those days this town was all round developed, like metro city.  Ranala’s Grampanchayat was also well equipped.  There were 2 public libraries in RANALA town.  One was run by Grampanchayat & 2nd was run by Dawoodi Bohara Samaj, named ‘The Royal Reading Room’.  It was also known as ‘Gujarati Library’.  Both libraries were very idle.  Grampanchayat library was having Marathi newspapers like Loksatta, Maha Times, Lokmat, Sakal, Matadar, Aapala Maharashtra etc.  And Gujarati library was having Guajarati & English newspapers, like Gujarat Mitra, Gujarat Samachar, Indian Express, Times Of India, Employment News, Chitralekha & other 2-3 magazines.

Hon. Shri. Shashikant Patil alias Bhayaji were having a passion of reading books, novels  & newspapers. They regularly go to both libraries with Mr. Ratnakar (Bapu) Aaghav.  At 4.30 evening to Gujarati Library & at 5.30 to Grampanchayat Library.  Mr. Sharad Garola, Raju Shintre, Manohar Thakar, Shankar Jadhav,  Ghuge and many more youths were regular readers in the Grampanchayat Library.  After few months, Grampanchayat authority made irregularities to place newspapers in reading room.  This inconvenience caused to form 3rd library in Ranala.  Mr. Harish Shukla, Ashok Avhad, Laxman Dhatrak, Sanjay Bari, Yashawant Songade(MP) came together & formed ‘Pujya Sane Guruji Sarwajanik Wachanalay’ in the leadership of Hon. Mr. Shashikant Patil. This happened in 1987.  This wachanalay continued for 2 years with 6 newspapers and 100-150 books.  Ranalkar gave very excellent responce to this library.  After that, some of the founder members shifted at different places for education and service-employment.  Then it was impossible to keep manage day to day activities to the founders.  So they closed this library.

Keeping in view, Hon Mr Shashikant Patil planned to develop our motherland JAKHANE.  After successful formation of Madhyamik Vidyalaya for the Jakhanekar kids, they formed ‘SARWAJANIK WACHANALAYA’ for Jakhanekar youths and senior citizens on 24th August, 2002 with 4 newspapers & 200 books.  This library registered with Charity Commissioner, Dhule in 2004.  Govt of Maharashtra sanctioned grant in 2008 with ‘D’ grade to this library.  In   20  Govt of Maharashtra ugraded this library with ‘C’ grade.  Approx. 100-125 villagers including younger & senior citizens taking benefits of this library.
